Tropical House
About This Spot
Stepping into Tropical House is like finding a quiet corner where the pulse of Sayulita softens into something more personal and inviting. Nestled along a gentle path that threads toward the beach, this Mediterranean-inspired spot feels like a haven for those who appreciate thoughtful, unhurried moments. The warm wooden accents and secluded terrace offer a sheltered retreat, encouraging visitors to settle in and savor the ebb and flow of the day.
Morning light filters gently through the space, casting a soft glow over tables where conversations unfold with the ease of old friends catching up. The pace here allows for lingering — a chance to enjoy a rich espresso or a freshly squeezed juice, followed by breakfast plates that bring together both comfort and creativity. It’s a place where generous portions speak of care, and the flavors—from vibrant vegan ceviche to tropical hints in their coffee—feel naturally woven into the local rhythm.
As the sun dips, Tropical House subtly shifts, embracing a relaxed evening vibe that blends friendly neighborhood warmth with a hint of refined charm. The sounds of live acoustic music drift just low enough to invite connection rather than distraction, underscoring evenings filled with shared laughter and familiar faces. Whether savoring a perfectly grilled mahi mahi or savoring a mezcal alongside thoughtfully crafted cocktails, the space feels less like a restaurant and more like a familiar retreat where moments unfold with ease.
The people here—both visitors and the welcoming staff—add an unmistakable heartbeat to the experience. It’s the kind of place where your server feels like a new friend, attentive without intrusion, and local regulars make you feel quietly included. Tropical House doesn’t rush you; instead, it offers a calm embrace, a place to start the day slowly or wind down gently at night, always with the honest flavors and warm company that give this spot its quiet magic.

THE place for breakfast incredible flavors and portion sizes leaving us unable to finish! In the evenings we enjoy stopping in for a night cap to feel welcomed like a neighborhood home town bar. We met Cam six months ago here and really enjoy each time we pop in and see a familiar face. Looking forward to enjoying dinner here this week!

Went to this lovely spot for dinner last night and this place made for a great experience on all levels. Vanessa was our server. She exudes warmth, authenticity and helpfulness. She's a real treasure for this place. I had the Mahi Mahi Serandeado which was excellent and prepared perfectly. They had a live acoustic guitar player who was great and the amplification was perfect and not too loud. The mezcalitas were not weak like most in town. Also they were tasty. The atmosphere is laid back and homey. 5 out of 5

My family and I had the pleasure of enjoying New Years Eve dinner with Tropical House! We had a large party (10) and it was an amazing experience. They don’t do reservations because they have been burned in the past with no-shows. Except in constant contact to ensure we would show. Glad we did… their food is amazing and service was on point! Thank you Tropical House! I had the flank steak with Gorgonzola and mashers… bomb!

Tucked away on a quiet path toward the beach, this spot offers a more than satisfying dining experience. The indoor seating, set back from the street, made for a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I had both breakfast and an early lunch here, and each meal was enjoyable and well-prepared. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was consistently warm and welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant experience. A great choice for a peaceful and satisfying meal!

Lovely eatery on the more north side of town. We had breakfast and cleaned our plates. The smoothies here were great my omelette and latte were tasty! Great ambiance on their enclosed terrace. The shift supervisor is a lovely gentleman with orange and white hair who stopped by our table to make sure all was well.
